How to choose the right finished channel drain?

The channel drain is usually located in front of the garage, around the pool, on both sides of the commercial area or road. Choosing the right finished drainage ditch product and using a reasonable layout can effectively improve the drainage efficiency of the road area water and achieve the best drainage effect.

What to consider choosing a channel drain:
Water flow: how much rain is expected;
Rated load: what type of vehicle will pass through the use area;
Water body properties: acidic or alkaline water quality;
Landscape requirements: The layout design of the overall landscape of the drainage pavement.

Finished drainage channel are linear drainage applications used to collect and transport surface water. They are often used in driveways, around swimming pools, parking lots and other places. Channel drainage is an effective way to collect water before drainage problems occur, to avoid road area water, causing excessive water accumulation around the house for too long and damaging surrounding buildings.

Firstly, one of the things to consider is how much water we need to discharge.

The rainwater flow design should be considered when designing the drainage ditch, which should be calculated according to the following formula:
● Qs=qΨF
● In the formula: Qs-rainwater design flow (L/S)
● q-Design storm intensity [L/(s ▪hm2)]
● Ψ-Runoff coefficient
● catchment area (hm2)
Usually, 150mm-400mm wide drain is enough. Don't be too obsessed with flow charts and formulas. If you have moderate water and drainage problems, you can choose a 200mm or 250mm wide drainage system. If you have serious water and drainage problems, you can use a 400mm wide drainage system.

Secondly, the drainage system designed for outdoor also needs to consider the load of vehicles on the drainage surface.

At present, the design of Yete's products adopts the EN1433 standard ,there divided into six grades, A15, B125, C250, D400, E600, and F900.

When choosing a finished drainage channel, We should consider what kind of vehicles will drive on it, there have different types of load capacity.
A–Pedestrian and bicycle lanes
B-lane and private parking
C-Roadside Drainage and Service Station
D-Main driving road, highway

Thirdly, it is the nature of the water body. Now the environment is seriously polluted, and the chemical components in rainwater and domestic sewage are complex, especially industrial sewage. These sewages are extremely corrosive to the traditional concrete drainage ditch. Long-term use will cause the drainage ditch to corrode and damage, causing serious impact on the environment. The finished product drainage ditch uses resin concrete as the main material, which has good corrosion resistance to corrosive water bodies.

Construction or community use of finished drainage ditches, landscaping is also a necessary condition in construction. The road drainage system should select the appropriate drainage products according to the overall requirements of the urban design to match the urban construction. In general, for most residential applications, a pre-tilted trench drainage system inclined from 0.7% to 1% is sufficient.

Selecte a finished drainage channel, comprehensive design should be taken into full consideration of requirements such as drainage volume, road traffic conditions, environmental landscape requirements, and water body properties.
For indoor drainage or kitchen drainage, choose a finished drainage channel with a stamped cover plate to maintain the aesthetics and corrosion resistance of the ground.
For general road traffic pavements, a linear drainage system design scheme is adopted, a U-shaped drainage ditch using resin concrete as the ditch body material, and a cover plate that meets the requirements of the pavement load are combined. This scheme has the highest cost performance.
Special roads, such as airports, ports, large logistics centers, and other roads with high load requirements, can use integrated drainage system design.
The roadside pavement can be designed with curbstone drainage system.
